Dr. Nomphelo Gantsho is a Fellow in Dermatology under the College of Medicine of South Africa. She specialised in dermatology at the University of Cape Town under the training of Prof. G Todd and Prof.  NP Khumalo. She qualified as a medical doctor (MBChB) in 2004 at the University of Pretoria. Before becoming a medical practitioner she completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) with honors in Microbiology and Masters in Science (MSc). 

Prior to specialising in Dermatology, she underwent surgical training for 9 months as a registrar, after working for a year in the Department of General Surgery as a medical officer. This experience brings a unique set of skill and experience to Dermatology, a discipline that is increasingly becoming surgical. She has a special interest in Dermatologic Surgery and has received training under Prof Field (US) who is the founder of the International Dermatological Surgery Society. In addition to providing a high standard of clinical care, in 2012. Dr Gantsho started aspecialised combined clinic at Groote Schuur Hospital that involves the Department of Dermatology and Plastic Surgery for patients with hidradenitis suppurativa.

Dr. Nomphelo Gantsho is currently running a private practice at the Century Medical Suites in Century City and has expanded her services to include the Dermatology Treatment and Phototherapy Clinic | Cape Dermatology Clinic. She is also a director of Derma-SCAPE a company dedicated to clinical studies and research.

Memberships of Professional Bodies

She is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa and is a member of the Dermatology Society of South Africa and the South African Society of Dermatological Surgery.
